Historical stone Church
|
|
The Church on Louvain was built in 1852 as a mission outpost
and was a shared project of the farm’s then owner Bertie Richardson
and the first Anglican Bishop of Cape Town, Bishop Robert Gray.
The plans for the Church was provided by Sophie Gray, the Bishop’s
wife, and was consecrated in 1855 by Bishop Gray as “St John the
Baptist in the Wilderness”.
The Church today is still being used for regular sevices and with
its old worldly feel and warm atmosphere is ideal for a romantic
country wedding. It can accommodate up to 120 people seated.

The Apple Shed
|
|
This unique, beautifully restored venue was originally built and and
used for the sorting and packing of apples.
Since 2000 when the
first wedding reception was held in the shed, it has also become a
popular venue for corporate events, family reunions and other
informal functions. The shed has its own kitchen, bar, dining
area and dancefloor with an outside braai and very big swimming
pool. For wedding receptions the shed can accommodate up to
140 guests.

With all the facilities we offer Louvain Guestfarm is the ideal
venue for family reunions, teambuilding breakaways from the office,
a special birthday or anniversary surprise.
With our acclaimed 4x4 trails and the natural beauty of the area we
are a popular venue for the launching of new 4x4 vehicles or motorbike
brands and serves as a training facility for various Academies.

Our self catering accommodation is stylishly furnished and
decorated to complement the rural setting. We can accommodate
up to 38 guests in the historical old Farmhouse and other cottages.
